I would like to welcome Sri. Vidyasankar to
our group. Based on the articles I have read
by him elsewhere, I think the level of scholarship
of this group has taken a quantum jump up with
his inclusion.

He may not know it, but Sri Vidyasankar is partly
responsible for the formation of this group. Almost
two years ago there was a discussion about "tat thvam
asi," under the subject header aprudhak Siddhi, I
think. In this context, a few learned individuals
of Sri Vaishnava persuasion, like Sri. Krishna Prasad,
Sri. Sudharsana Iyengar, and Sri. Mani, exchanged
e-mails. To continue such discussions and to
extend the scope, Mani established this group while
he was at Stanford.

I am glad that Sri. Vidyasankar is now a part
of this group. I do hope he will present the
advaithic POV as and when he feels appropriate,
hopefully often, for our edification. Let me
also express my hope that there is no aversion
for controversy among us, but aversion only for
incivility.

p.s. The "aprudhak siddhi" e-mail exchanges
must be available in the bhakthi archives, right Mani?
