source of quoted verses

From the Bhakti List Archives

Dear members,

During my studies I have encounterd following verses
(from commentaries of different persons on Sanskrit
texts). Most of the time the origin/source of the
Sanskrit is not given (or it is just said "smRti says
thus"). If you know the source of one (or more) of
these qoutations, please let me know. Some of these
qoutes are very known, but I was unable to trace the
source. If only the text is known (e.g. Padma PurANa)
but not the exact reference, that is also very much
apreciated. If you know a verse that is simmilar, but
not entirely the same as the Sanskrit below, please
let me know also. If you know anything more about
these verses, please let me know, it would help me
enormously in my studies.

Thank you very much,
rembert
