Solar eclipse

From the Bhakti List Archives

There will be a total solar eclipse that will be visible (as a partial
eclipse) in a semi circular line from the southern part of California
going up all the way to the New Foundland. To see if your area is
covered check out the website
http://pao.gsfc.nasa.gov/gsfc/eclipse/eclipse.htm .

The eclipse is roughly between 12:00 noon and 2:30PM EST on Thursday
2/26. Ideally one should have a bath and eat only after this time. For
those who cannot follow this rule it is recommended that no food be
eaten between 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM. If fresh food cannot be cooked after
the eclipse time, it is recommended that darbai grass be placed on top
of any cooked food. 9 planets are affected and it is recommended that
one do japam as applicable to place time and circumstances. For more
information please call Sri U. Ve Kannan Swami at (301) 294-6206.
