Sri Raamajayam

Dear Bhagavathaas,
For several generations, in our families, it is customary to visit Jagannatha Puri when going North.

The question AdiyEn have is slightly different. Is Devi Patnam(or Nava Bhaashanam) a Divya Desam? The Sthla PurAnam holds that the deity worshipped is Aadhi Jagannatha Perumaal, was worshipped by Sri.Rama before Sethu Bandhanam. Probably the same Bhagavan Naama is associated in other kshethram such as Thirupullani. Are there references in Srimad Ramayanam to this Sthala PurAnam?(where Sri.Aadhi Jagannatha is mentioned).

AdiyEn Sri Raamanuja Daasan,

Sudarsana Dasosmi
BTW, I wonder why we still call it "Puri", the Kshethram is referred to as "Jagannatha Puri"(Ofcourse AdiyEn can relish the fact it is the gem among BhoolOka Puri's that we call it "the Puri", to signify its uniqueness).

sri:
srimathe raamanujaya namaha:

Dear Bhaktas,

I remember coming across a mention of the divya desam in some of the paasurams of moonRam thiruvanthadi of pey alwar.
There are specific(?) mentions about Puri in this prabandham. But traditionally puri is not included in the list of 108 Divya Desams.

ponnaazi kaNdEn *puri* sangam kaikkaNdEn,
ennaazi vaNNanpaal inRu. (2) 1

There are a few other paasurams with the word puri.

I also heard that there is a mention in Rig Vedam about the sthala puranam of Jagannathar Koil.

I seek inputs/clarifications from bhagavatas on this topic.

Thanks and Regards,

Adiyen Ramanuja Daasan,
