                                                            seidha vELviyar

The tenth pAsuram of thirup-pAvai "nORRuch chuvarkkam" begins with an interesting happening. The gopikAs who knock at the door of this gopikA addresses her as one who has completed the rituals-nONbu- and also attained the benefit. Here, the benefit is mentioned as "swargam"
which is the immeasurable happiness indicating the experience with Lord krishNA.

The gopikAs are in the phase of gathering and meeting together. How come this gOpikA has already completed and obtained the benefit? Here, the term " seidha vELviyar"- thriu voi mozhi 5-7-5, is referred to. The residents of srEviramangaLanagar-vAnamAmalai- are referred to as seidha vELviyar. Is it true that all these devotees have completed the rituals? No. Those who have realised the real nature of the Lord are deemed to have completed all the rituals blemishlessly. Hence, they need not take efforts specially. What is it that they have realised? They have realised that we, the souls are His assets, and therefore He will come and rescue us. We are subservient to Him and hence, we will be rescued by Him. Therefore,no efforts are necessary. He will take care of us.

Similarly, this gOpika, is a soul who is a 'seidha vELviyar' who has realised His nature. Then, does it not indicate that those who have come to take her have not realised Him properly. In fact, they should also be passive and wait for Him to take to HIm. The conviction is overwhelming in the case of gopikA inside whereas the nature of the end and the expectation is overwhelming in the case of those gopikAs who have to come to call her.Hence, this dual situation arises.

That is as far as 'seidha vELviyar' or "nORRuch chuvarkkam" goes.
