It should be noted that our thAyAr is a paDi-thANDAp pattini in every sense
of the term. Even for kanup-piDi, when the thAyArs from other temples come
to the poRRAmarai tank just outside the temple, our thAyAr stays inside the
entrance and does not come out of the door to the tank which is literally 10
feet away from the door. Such is Her devotion to the service of Her Lord.

Even Sri Sampath Rengarajan had written in a similar vein. Please note that
all the ThAyArs in all the divya dEsam are padi - thandApp - pathni only.
Nowhere does the thAyAr come out of the Temple into the adjoining veedhis
except, ThiruchAnoor. This could be for some reason which I don't know.

Also please note the word padi-thAndApp-pathini is normally used in a
different context. So I request all bhAgavathAs not to use this term
specific to any thAyAr of any paricular divya dEsam.

I am sure that who ever wrote this, never did this with the intention of
pointing out that other thAyArs are not so under the context that I said
above. But it just doesn't look pleasing (Hope everyone understands) to
attribute it to one thAyAr of a particular divya dEsam.

Also it is true that in every divya dEsam, Andal comes out of the temple
during the kaNu pidi festival. So will one say that Andal is a
padi-thAndiya-pathini? No. So please don't say like this.

If I have hurt anybody's feelings by this post, I sincerely place my
apologies and request them to forgive me for writing this.
