RE: Swargam for Dasrathar

Antima smrti is a very difficult concept. It seems yogis bring their
jeevatman at the sahasrara or skull top and just before leaving the body
think about a dhyeya vastu in a certain form. hence we do not know what
antima smrti of dasaratha even though most of his last days he only thought
about Rama. also it matters how he thought? bhava - ye yatha mam prapadyante
verse of gita indicates this.

regards,
Krishna

[ The Gita also mentions that antima-smriti or deathbed remembrance is
common to all yogis who meditate on Sri Krishna. The final remembrance
of those who are intent on bodily prosperity or in the isolated experience
of the individual self is also on the Lord but in a different form
and for a different purpose. Only the wise bhakta who is an
'ananya-prayojana' -- has no other goal other than the Lord himself --
meditates on the Lord alone as the Way and the Goal in his or her
final moments and therefore attains the Lord. Dasaratha from his life
story was ostensibly not one of these and saw his goal as the attainment
  of svarga. -- Moderator ]
