1. Editorial

Dear BhakthAs:
On this most Auspicious day of Akshaya thirithiyai, with this 12th
issue, we are reaching a mile stone in the publication of
SaraNAgati. We have been blessed by the SaraNya Dhampathis to
release dozen issues in the third volume on topics that are of
vital interest to Sri VaishNavAs. We are in the process of
receiving contributions from number of scholars from India and
look forward to sharing them with you in the coming days.

In the first article on Anjali Vaibhavam, the first slOkam deals
with the PraNava Sabdham. The second slOkam covers the
indeclinable , "Namah" sabdham , which is housed in the middle of
the AshtAksharam. The third slOkam expounds the deep significance
of the word, "NaarAyaNaaya" in the dative case. The fourth verse
focuses on the obstacles that stand in the way of a saadhakan and
guides him/her with ways to overcome them by meditation on the
appropriate sections of the glorious AshtAkshara manthram.
>
The fifth slOkam has for its topic the Dhvaya Manthram. ParAsara
Bhattar points out that the Dhvaya manthram (Manthra Rathnam )
protects the reciter and is a part of the Sruthi itself. The Sixth
slOkam elaborates further on the dhvaya manthram and distinguishes
the path of SaraNAgati from that of Bhakthi. PurushakAra aspects
of Sri Devi is covered here.

4. An appeal and invitation for Sri Ranganatha temple maha
samprOkshanam - Sri V. Sadagopan and Sri Venkat Kannumalla

Dear Sri RanganAtha BhakthAs:
The plans for the MahA SamprOkshaNam for our Lord are progressing
well. It is just a month away. The expenses for ALL the remaining
Kaimkaryams to successfully conduct the maha samprOkshaNam have
been identified ; approximate estimated expenditures for ALL
kaimkaryams is $250,000. We anticipate coverage of $125,000 from
ongoing efforts. WE HAVE HOWEVER A DEFICIT OF $125,000 TO BREAK
EVEN. WE NEED URGENTLY YOUR GENEROUS HELP TO ADDRESS THIS CURRENT
DEFICIT. IF TWENY FIVE BHAKTHAS CAN SUPPORT THIS KAINKARYAM WITH
$5,000 EACH, WE WILL BE COVERED. OTHER SUPPORT ALGORITHMS ARE FIFTY
BHAKTHAS SUPPORTING THIS KAIMAKRYAM WITH $2,500 EACH . ALL OF YOUR
SUPPORT IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

>Most recently , a dear BhakthA from North Carolina volunteered to
support Prathishtai for Lord SrinivAsar with a $10,001 pledge.
Twelve such generous pledges will quickly close the gap. Please
contribute whatever you could to narrow this deficit. The Various
kaimkaryams that require attention are:

(1) Eight Sannidhi Homam and eight pooraNAhuthi Sponsorships
(2) Veda/Dhivya Prabhandha pArAyaNams for consecration (8 Ghana
    pAdis & Priests)
(3) Vasthram and other thirumanjanam materials for moolavar, Sri
RanganAthan for a mandalam (every day for 48 days)
4) Vasthram for the Moolavars at the other Seven Sannidhis for a
mandalam (every day for 48 days)

The perumALs will have to have thirumanjanam for a period of a
mandalam of 48 days according to Agamic rites and hence a lot of
thirumanjanam supplies, silk and other vasthrams are needed
everyday.

(6) Anna DhAnam for all Five days
(7) Ninteen Kalasa SamprOkshaNams
(8) Eight Sannidhi Prathishtais
(9) Miscellaneous back-up kaimkaryams
Let us support the MahA samprOkshaNa Kaimkaryam generously and the
dhivya dampathis will bless us all abundantly, although our Kain
-karyam does not expect anything in return from Them in a material
sense. Kainkaryam to Dhivya Dampathis, AchAryAs and BhaagavathAs
is Parama PurushArtham for us on this Earth of THEIRS.

All of your contributions can be sent directly to:
Sri RanganAtha SevA Samithi
25 Old Route 202
Pomona, NY 10970

Please copy sgopan@computer.net your pledges so that adiyEn can
keep track of our target goals of 100K$ and come back to you with
the good news on reaching these goals As Soon As Possible. Please
join the other BhakthAs from all parts of USA, who plan to attend
this rare Uthsavam. Sri Venkat Kanumalla of Sri Ranganatha Temple
joins with me to invite you and your family to particpate in this
mahA samprOkshaNam for the 8 sannidhis and receive the blessings
of Dhivya Dampathis during the auspicious occasion of MahA samprOk
-shanam (May 23-29).
