Dear Shree Ranganathan Narasimhan,

In the 18th chapter of Bhagavat Geeta, the order of the verses is
not as you have mentioned. First is "Manmana Bhava" sloka and then
is "SarvaDharman Parityajya". Let me tell you how Shree Raamaanuja
establishes Prapathi by Geeta. There are two types of Prapathi
Type 1: Saddwaaraka Prapathi :Here the Jeeva is adopting prapthi
as a means to get his sins removed so that the obstacles are
removed to start Bhakthi. Here Prapathi is not a direct means
on the other hand makes the Jeeva to start Bhakti and then
reach Moksha.
Type 2: Addwaaraka Prapathi :Here the Jeeva adopts Prapathi as
direct means to reach Moksha.

Therefore prapthi is of these two types.
Bhagavat Geetha talks about both these two types of prapthi.
Type 2 prapathi is the secret of all secrets (Guhyaad Guhyatamam)
because it is for those who have Shreemath Bhagavat Raamaanuja
association. For futher details and doubts/questions please
write to me.

Regards
M.S.HARI Raamaanuja Daasan

dear bhagavthas,

i have a question silly as it may seem.
i wish to clarify how prapatti is established by sri
ramanuja on the basis of srimad bhagavad gita. why i
ask this is when krsihna says in 18th cahpater that he
is going to tell the secret of all secrets he says two
verses: sarvadharman...... and then man man bhava mad
bhakto.......
a)here the first verse endorses prapatti while the
second verse endorses bhakti. so which of these to is
guhyad guhyatamam?

b) secondly the last instruction by sri krishna in
bhagavad gita to arjuna is to become a bhakta and
prapatti is stated prior. so which statement is to be
considered more emphatic.
