Personal Introduction

From the Bhakti List Archives

Hello!! My name is Arun Sridharan. I shall now try to give you a brief
introduction to my past and present. I was born in Bangalore in 1976. For
the first 12 years of my life, I lived in Gauhati(4 yrs),New Delhi(4 yrs),
Bangalore (3 yrs) and in Madras(1 yr). In 1986, my parents came to the
United States as graduate students. Having recently completed their
advanced degrees, they are in the process of settling down in Mississippi.
After coming to this country in 1988, I did my High School in Mississippi.
For the past 1 and a quarter years, I have been an undergraduate physics
student at Brandeis University. Brandeis is located about 10 miles west
of Boston, Massachussets.

For the last one and a half years, I have become very interested in
Vedic philosophy. In particular, I have done a fair amount of reading on
Gaudiya Vaisnavism. I have visited a few Radha-Krishna temples in this
country and have found my experiences there to be especially enriching and
meaningful. I have had the honor of having the association of a few
advanced Gaudiya Vaisnavites and as a result my attitudes toward life have
changed a great deal. As time went by, I felt an urge to study the
philosophy of the tradition that I was born into, namely Sri Vaisnavism. I
think that my life will be greatly enriched by having some contact and
association with the Sri Vaisnavites in this group. I have already learned
quite a lot in the few days that I have been on this mailing list. Since I
am a neophyte at Sri Vaisnavite studies, I would really appreciate it if any
of you could give some pointers with regards to some reading material.

Before I stop, I would like to thank Srinivasan for informing me about
this group. In case any of you would like to get in touch with me, here is
my address.
